"Achieving business solutions through
Project & Portfolio Management"

Greetings!

Fiscal Year 18/19 was another year of continued growth for the PMO, leading strategic and organizational change initiatives, partnering with senior leadership, and executing our business strategy through portfolio and project management. Project benefits management and realization is an area of continuous focus for the PMO where requesters of our services are now including the project benefits to the organization as part of the intake process. We have updated the PMO project request/project initiation document (PID), status report and project closure templates to include the project benefits to ensure that projects are creating and sustaining lasting value to the organization. This past fiscal year we have continued our process improvement efforts. This includes fine-tuning our project request process, PM time tracking, workload and utilization management. These items helped support PMO resource management due to the demand for our services.

We are now supporting 7 departments/portfolios, (HCIS, Hospital Administration, UIP, Marketing & Communications, Johnson County Board of Supervisors, Capital Management and recently added, Finance supporting their strategic initiatives and projects. Currently, the PMO team consists of 12 project managers providing full project management support for 89 projects and mentoring 6 UI Health Care staff, 1 administrative fellow, and 2 interns. Once again, we thank you for your support, and we look forward to our continued partnership with you and your team, executing the UI Health Care strategic plan.
